Your Resource For Home Baking; Recipes, Tips and More
Bookmark For the Love of Baking.com
For the Love of Baking.com was created simply because I love creating gifts and treats in my kitchen. I envision this to be a community resource for anyone who shares that love. Hopefully we can share ideas, recipes, and tips. I have no formal training in the culinary arts; I am simply a mother, wife, daughter and PTO volunteer. Currently I seem to be participating in a lot of bake sales to raise money for my daughter's cheer squad.
When my son and daughter are in school, I work part time at a meal preparation service on the North side of Houston (Humble, TX) called You're the Chef. At You're the Chef, I assist people in making freezable meals to take home and serve to their families. Having a freezer full of already prepared meals is exactly what a busy family needs; if you are in the Houston, TX area please check them out. For anywhere else in the United States check into . Until recently I made Miss Mary's Cookie Dough available for purchase at You're the Chef. I decided to give that venture up because I found that all of my free time was spent making cookie dough for other people; and it broke my heart when my daughter would tug on my apron strings and ask "Mommy are those cookies going to be for us or are you going to sell them". I decided to use that spare time instead to share my recipes and baking tips with ya'll; hence For the Love of Baking.com was born. If you would like to read my story, please visit the Miss Mary page.
Please visit the Share Ideas page to be a part of this forum. On the Featured Recipe page, I have shared some of my tried and true recipes, and hope to share yours as well. To link to all of my recipes, go to the Archived Recipes page. The Baking Tips page includes some of my best tips to help you improve your kitchen knowledge; I’m sure we can learn from your experiences as well. The Kitchen Conversions page has all the common, and some obscure, conversions you will need to make your life in the kitchen easier; including US Unit to Metric conversions for our Non-American friends.
Grab a cup of coffee or an ice cold glass of milk, indulge your sweet tooth with a little homebaked goodness, sit back, read, learn, share, and enjoy! If you like what you read, be sure to bookmark this page and send the link to your friends.
Happy Baking,
Miss Mary
