This Chocolate Pudding Pie Recipe is as simple as can be. This chocolate pie recipe is proof that a recipe does not need to be difficult in order to be good. For when you just crave something that is sweet and creamy, my pudding pie recipe can fill the bill. Most likely you have everything that you need on hand and it is as easy as throwing it together. If you don't want to mess with making the crust yourself, a store bought chocolate crumb or graham cracker crust is fine. If you don't want to use chocolate wafers in the crust, you could use any crumb crust recipe that catches your eye. Check out these variations of crumb crusts Simple Crumb Crust Recipes
1-1/4 cup chocolate wafer crumbs
1/4 cup white granulated sugar
1/4 cup melted butter
1 large size package of instant chocolate pudding, prepared according to package directions
1 (8 oz.) container of frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preheat oven to 375º F. In a medium sized bowl combine the chocolate wafer crumbs, the white sugar and the melted butter. Stir until evently combined. Press mixture evenly into a 9 inch pie plate and bake for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool completely
Fold whipped topping into the chocolate pudding until well incorporated. Spread pudding mixture into cooled crust and chill for several hours. You can also serve this frozen. Just remove from freezer 30 minutes before serving to soften it up a bit.
