I haven’t made this easy brownie recipe in years; however today I pulled it out again and whipped out a batch. I didn’t plan to bake today, I planned to sit at the computer most of the day and figure out some of the things about this whole website business that had been confusing me for a bit. You see I am not a computer nut, I am a baker. My husband is the computer nut and I have been trying to avoid bothering him with trivial questions. Well today I got totally frustrated and I had to call him in to help. He sat right down and started working through my issues immediately. It made me mad that something that was so difficult for me could be so obvious to him; so I decided not to let it get to me and to go do something that I am good at, namely baking. When those brownies came out of the oven it validated my existence; and I could go back to learning something new. That is what this easy brownie recipe is to me; it’s comfort food. After one bite, all was right with the world again.
¾ cup all purpose flour ¼ tsp. baking soda ¼ tsp salt
2/3 cup white granulated sugar 2 Tbs. water 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips, divided
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 eggs, beaten slightly
Preheat oven to 325º F. Turn a 9 inch square cake pan
In a quart sized Ziploc bag combine flour, baking soda and salt; seal bag and shake, shake, shake, set aside. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, add sugar and water; stir to dissolve sugar. Raise temp to medium high and cook until it just begins to boil; take it off the heat immediately. Add 1 cup of chocolate chips to the butter/sugar mixture and stir until all chocolate chips are melted; add vanilla extract and stir to combine. Pour chocolate mixture into the bowl of your
