Homemade Devonshire Cream Recipe

Bookmark For the Love of Baking.com

Picture of scones topped with jam and cream. This Homemade Devonshire Cream Recipe is an easy and delightful addition to your dessert topping recipes. It is slightly sweet and slightly tangy at the same time. Devonshire cream is traditionally served atop scones with a dab of your favorite jam; but you should use your imagination for different ways to use this lovely concoction. Try it on fresh berries or other fruits, or how about on top of a simple unfrosted chocolate cake or pound cake. I will warn you however, it is addicting.

1/2 cup (125ml) heavy cream

1 Tbs. (7.5 g) confectioners sugar

2/3 (165 ml) cup sour cream

With a hand mixer, whip the heavy cream and confectioners sugar until soft peaks are formed. Add the sour cream and whip until just combined. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
